Content Writers payment problems

Graphic designers can protect their work by putting watermarks on their designs. Once they get their payment they share the original design with the clients. They might not need digital escrow, unlike content writers who can not protect their work in any way possible.

When it comes to protecting your work as a freelance content writer, the only way out is to use the digital escrow payment method.

Adarsh Mishra, a talented freelance content writer, while looking for work bumped into a scammer and did not get the deserved payment for his work.

Free sample and Free Full Article

Adarsh had been freelancing for quite some time when he got a project from a client named Tanvir. He was asked to prepare a sample article so that the client could check his writing style and analyze the quality of his work.

Adarsh took out time to work on the sample and delivered his best to get the gig. Tanvir claimed to like the sample that was submitted. While Adarsh trusted the client, fate had something else in store for him.

The next day Tanvir messaged Adarsh about his interest in getting the work done by him and offered him to write an article for the same and he agreed without a second thought.

On Adarsh’s request for payment, Tanvir made an excuse that he is facing some technical issues with the bank and will pay him after he submits the article.

Adarsh, though doubtful, agreed to complete and submit the article on time. He worked hard and did his best but was blocked soon after he submitted the article to Tanvir.

Avoiding Payment Issues

Adarsh couldn’t get the deserved payment for his hard work. Working hard over something and not getting the deserved returns sounds painful. But this could have been avoided if Adarsh knew about the uses and advantages of digital escrow payment.

He shared his experience on Facebook through a post.

What can freelancers do to avoid getting scammed?

  1. Do not work without advance.
  2. Prefer escrow payment over normal payment. One such application that can help freelancers is Vouch.
  3. Avoid sending samples to every stranger over the internet.
